Tips of the trade

Useful tips on various interior design related subjects.

When planning to move to a new office,  always allow about 3 months prior to the move to procure  all the services you will be needing in your new office.  For example,  new furniture that you order can take up to 8 weeks to manufacture and deliver.

A coat of paint is the most inexpensive way to give a room new life.

When choosing a colour, take into account the amount of natural light the room receives.  A dark room should ideally be painted in a lighter colour to avoid the room looking gloomy.

If you prefer a dark colour, make sure there is enough

artificial light in the room.

When tiling any room, make sure to measure up the room and mark a set out point.  A set out point should ideally be in the centre of the room.

There are 2 options:

1. either the centre of the tile in the centre of the floor, or
2. the centre joint between the two tiles positioned either side of the centre line
